Honourable Olusegun Dokun Odebunmi has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, on what would have been his 76th birthday.
In a commemorative message, Hon. Odebunmi described the late statesman as “the architect of modern Oyo State”, whose visionary leadership fundamentally transformed the state’s governance, infrastructure, and socio-economic landscape.
According to him, Senator Ajimobi’s administration ushered in an era of peace, urban renewal, improved security, and infrastructural development that repositioned Oyo State for sustainable growth.
“Though he is no longer with us, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi’s legacy continues to speak loudly. His courage, discipline, and commitment to good governance laid the foundation for the modern Oyo State we see today,” Odebunmi stated.
He noted that the late governor’s emphasis on the rule of law, peaceful coexistence, and institutional reforms distinguished his leadership and earned him enduring respect across political and social divides.
Hon. Odebunmi prayed for the continual repose of Ajimobi’s soul and urged the people of Oyo State, especially the younger generation, to draw inspiration from his life of service, integrity, and dedication to public good.
“Even in death, he remains a guiding light and a reference point for purposeful leadership,” he added.
